Whether you understand it or don’t, NFTs are here to stay. 2021 was a break-out year for NFTs. If that’s anything to go by, brace yourself because NFTs projects are coming full steam in 2022. For instance, imagine yourself joining an NFT project’s community as an early contributor-owner. Not only can you build something cool and interesting but also make a lot of money, if done well.
This was something that was once accessible to a few individuals. Today, anyone on the internet can do it. Welcome to the new world of NFTs. Besides, whatever your interest is, there is likely someone building an NFT project around it. As a result, your passion could find a loyal audience all over the world.
NFTs will play an important role in shaping both consumer and brand decisions. Blockchains and NFTs help you be in control, marketing your creativity. You don’t need to approach anyone for permission or approval. If you need more inspiration for your NFT project, look no more. Today we present to you a list of five NFT projects to follow in 2022. We expect a host of new projects, innovations, and ideas to reach the market this year. Let’s begin.
CryptoPunks are an NFT collection of 10,000 (6,039 males and 3,840 females) unique digital characters. They’re 24×24 pixel art images, stored on the Ethereum blockchain. Larva Labs launched the project on 23rd June 2017.
Furthermore, each CryptoPunk is a unique, generated digital piece of art with different physical attributes. Some punks wear earrings, shades, a mohawk or a hoodie, and a bunch of other stuff. For example, there is only one CryptoPunk with seven attributes (CryptoPunk 8348). It has a beard, bucktooth, cigarette, earring, and a mole; with classic shades and a top hat.
Likewise, there are other unique CryptoPunks. For instance, there are 9 aliens, 24 apes, 44 wear beanies while 128 have rosy cheeks. There will only be 10,000 CryptoPunks and no more. CryptoPunks represent the first NFT project to reach the attention of mainstream media. They have laid the foundation for today’s multi-billion dollar NFT market.
The currently lowest-priced CryptoPunk is worth $210,075.55. The entire CryptoPunk collection has contributed $1.82 billion to the NFT market,
Bored Ape Yacht Club
The BAYC NFT collection’s website, created by Yuga Labs, was launched on April 30th, 2021. Bored Ape Yacht Club is a collection of 10,000 unique ape characters. In a nutshell, every owner has received an ape with unique attributes and styles. Seven potential traits are color, clothing style, earrings, eyes, fur, hat, and shape of the mouth.
Like CryptoPunks, some bored apes are rarer and hence, higher its value. That’s where the similarity ends. BAYC confers a host of benefits to its holders. Ownership grants a yacht club membership card and other member benefits. There could be many other benefits the community decides for the future. For example, one of them is access to ‘The Bathroom’, a collaborative graffiti board.
Holders get full commercial usage rights of their NFTs. This means owners can create licenses to monetize their apes like physical assets. It recently surpassed $1 billion in total sales volume on the NFT marketplace OpenSea
It is a collection of 10,000 animated Samurai NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain. People are already referring to the project as the ‘next Axie Infinity’. Each Samurai has different emotions, weapons, armor, facial expressions, and other elements. The original owners can even breed another generation of Samurai Doges.
Furthermore, users can claim a 3D voxel army by battling each other to earn the native cryptocurrency token, $HONOR. As per the team, owners of genesis Samurai Doges can claim 1 3D Samurai Doge, to be visible on the project’s AR app. In this coming quarter, the project will launch its battlefield gameplay. It’s an exciting arena where owners can compete with other owners using their Samurai Doge NFTs.
If the success of Axie Infinity is anything to go by, Samurai Doge may well be one of the breakout NFT projects of 2022.
Decentraland is an open, NFT based, virtual world. Think about it like the GTA franchise. The key difference is that in a decentralized world, users and players own the in-game assets. You cannot own anything in GTA. In Decentraland, you can own anything you want. Land, estates, farms, buildings, cars, anything you like.
Likewise, you can explore, create, socialize, trade, and live inside it like the physical world. Since it is global in scope, you become a true global citizen. It is one of the most innovative games ever made because of its broad vision. It does not limit player imagination in any way. You can make revenue and also have fun at the same time. Before NFTs and blockchain, this was never possible. Most important, anyone can use their web browser and cryptocurrency wallet and start.
We can expect Decentraland to take the NFT movement further ahead in 2022. Hope for lots of new innovations in gameplay, quality of interaction, and user benefits. When people think about the Metaverse today, they think about Decentraland.
We know a lot of games and art projects that incorporate NFTs. You may complain that NFT uses limit themselves to the virtual world only. This is not the case. Oceaverse is an organization that aims to use NFTs and blockchain technology for preserving oceanic environments. Its principal goal is to protect ocean reefs and marine life all over the world.
Additionally, it has collaborated with Reef Check International, a team that provides marine training. Their volunteers collect data about the tropical coral reefs and underwater bodies. As a result, Oceaverse will lead oceanic art by professional artists minted as NFTs. Thus, owners of oceaverse NFTs across the world are able to be a part of the ocean conservation movement.
NFT projects are changing the way we look at the world. For the first time in history, we are witnessing a global movement shaped by the internet. Besides, we always looked at the internet as more of an entertainment or cultural medium. NFT projects change that narrative. 2022 promises to see more and more use cases that impact the real world.
Azuki is one of the most well-known and infamous enterprises ever. Azuki, a PFP project including 10,000 anime inspired NFTs, has risen to popularity with unparalleled enthusiasm, extensive backstory, and unexpected controversy. With its January…
