The women artists are not only releasing women-centric NFT but also donating their profits to a noble cause. Women-led projects like World Of Women actively donate a major part of their earnings to NGOs and social organizations.

WOW donated $44k to Too Young To Wed to help abolish child marriages. They have also donated huge amounts of money to social organizations like She’s The First, Code to Inspire, Rock Flower Fund, and others. All these donations go to uplift, educate and empower girls and women across the world.

Launched on 27^th July 2021, the World Of Women or WOW is the collection of 10,000 NFTs. All the NFTs represent women’s avatars in powerful forms. The artist Yam Karkai is the author of these NFTs who took to decentralized space to show women empowerment in all sectors of life.

She believes that decentralized space encourages art and does away with the traditional notions of gender discrimination. The NFT project envisions using their collection and community to educate and encourage women to participate in NFT and web 3.0 space.

The collections were launched at 0.07 ETH or around $225 at the time of the launch. At the time of writing the average price of one WOW NFT is $30.6k.

In the first two weeks of 2022, the WOW NFT sales accumulated around $40 million on NFT platforms. In the last seven days, WOW has had a trading volume of $3.06 million.

Voicing Women Experiences

NFT art is a way of narrating women’s experiences in a more advanced form. Boss Beauties is another women-led NFT initiative that believes “Women can be anything she wants”.

The collection of 10,000 unique NFTs shows women as pilots, entrepreneurs, police officers, doctors, cooks, and many more roles to name.

The artist Lisa Mayer says that every time someone sees her NFTs, it will remind them that women can be anything they want. She selected NFTs as the medium to show the world that women are no more behind men in any sector.

Educating And Encouraging Women

NFT projects like Boss Beauties, WOW, WomenRise, and others advocate to educate and encourage women to take interest in the new technologies.

Women artists like Mayer, Mahila Abidi, and Yam Karkai envision pushing women to learn about decentralized finances and how to benefit from them. Through their project they want women to come forward and actively participate in the decentralized world.

Mayer even believes that once women learn and enter the decentralized space there is no turning back. Decentralized finances can become an opportunity for women to become financially independent in the true sense.

On 11th October, one of the Boss beauty NFT was displayed outside the iconic Muriel Siebert Boardroom at NYSE. Displaying NFT created by women and portraying women signifies women empowerment in the fintech sector.
